With Kenny Omega having stepped away from the ring in December to deal with some major diverticulitis issues, AEW President Tony Khan has now given a health update on the Best Bout Machine.

Speaking with Sports Grid (via the Wrestling Observer), Khan noted how Kenny's "doing much better":

"Kenny, we were all very worried about him. He's doing better, but he was seriously sick and his life could have been threatened had he not gotten to the doctors when he had. He was really sick and he's thankfully doing much better, and we're all wishing Kenny the best and hoping and looking forward to seeing Kenny Omega back in AEW as soon as he's healthy."

The Observer's Dave Meltzer stated last month how Omega's condition was previously so bad that surgery couldn't be risksed. As such, Meltzer detailed how Kenny will wait until March before making a decision on whether surgery is the best option for him.

Omega went to the hospital shortly after wrestling Ethan Page on the 5 December AEW Collision tapings, which is when he was given the diverticulitis diagnosis. The former AEW World Champion had been working through extreme discomfort in the weeks prior, with him putting that down to an error with his diet. At the time, it was reported that if Kenny hadn't gone to the hospital when he did, the situation could've been "horrendous".

By all accounts, March seems like it will bring a significant update on what's next for Omega, with that obviously dependent on whether he will indeed opt for surgery.
