It seems Tony Khan is as open to an AEW/WWE collaboration as Cody Rhodes is.

Appearing on the Wrestle Fetish podcast earlier this week, the AEW head honcho said that his company's forbidden door is "open anytime," even to the world's biggest promotion. "Just come and knock," he added. "If they were to knock on the door, I would certainly be willing to let them in.”

On whether or not he feels such a collab would be similar to D-Generation X invading WCW Nitro during the Monday Night Wars, Khan said the following:-

“I don’t think so. Eric [Bischoff] wanted them [WWE] to come inside, so I’m willing to do the same. Come in, please. I would love that. Come to Jacksonville, I’m begging you.”

Yesterday saw one Rhodes, one of AEW's Executive Vice Presidents, claim there was "no reason" a WWE/AEW working relationship couldn't happen at some point.

Something like this seems a long way off, given that NXT still exists on USA Network primarily as a way of denting AEW's ratings, but AEW officials are at least attempting to present themselves as welcoming. 2021 has already seen them establish working agreements with NJPW and Impact Wrestling, adding to existing partnerships with Mexico's AAA and the NWA.
