AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose put their bodies on the line to close Sunday's Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view with an explosive, spot-filled main event, but the match took a heavy toll. As reported earlier, the victorious Styles was seen favouring his right foot after the show went off the air, and he limped all the way to the back after receiving medical attention.

PWInsider have now followed-up on this news by reporting that as expected, Styles suffered a minor ankle injury during the hard-hitting TLC match, and it's clearly causing him some problems in the event's aftermath. Styles was unable to compete at a Live Event in Tyler, Texas on Monday evening, and WWE chose to pull him from the card as a "precautionary measure."

With AJ absent, the night's main event saw Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, and WWE Intercontinental Champion engage in a Triple Threat match, and The Miz emerged victorious.

Styles is scheduled to defend his WWE World Championship against the perennial thorn in his side, James Ellsworth, later this evening, though there's no news on how his injury may affect the match. Ellsworth might have to wait for his promised title shot, but we're sure Dean Ambrose will find a way to keep him occupied in the meanwhile...
