WWE spent time filming vignettes for Aleister Black's return to television this week.

Per PWInsider's Mike Johnson, the vignettes are based loosely on Black's childhood and while there's currently no word on when they might hit the airwaves, that they're in the can suggests we aren't in for a long wait.

Black, 35, hasn't been on WWE television since concluding his feud with Kevin Owens on the 12 October 2020 episode of Raw. KO defeated Black in a No Disqualification that night, while Aleister was sent to SmackDown as part of the 2020 WWE Draft the same day. He is yet to appear for the blue brand.

November saw Black's wife, Thea Trinidad, released from WWE for "breach of contract" as she failed to comply with the company's restrictive third-party platform ban.

The run up to WrestleMania 37 saw Black respond to Murphy's challenge for a match at the event, which never came to pass. He has been spotted at the WWE Performance Center, potentially preparing for a comeback, and has reportedly been dealing with some minor injuries during his time away from television as well.
