All 21 NXT-To-WWE Call-Ups - Ranked From Worst to Best
14. Adam Rose
Adam Rose got over in NXT because Full Sail is totally willing to meet the promotion halfway on basically anything if they can use it to be part of the show.
They pretended that a doughy rat-faced guy and his friend Goth Dad were the Legion of Doom because they liked chanting, “Yah”, for example.
Your average Raw audience likes crowd participation, sure, but there are many thousands more of them than the Full Sail faithful, and they also change from show to show. That's bad news for NXT’s cult favorites.
Rose had a series of pre-debut vignettes and a lengthy undefeated streak, but Raw’s fans did not take to him the way NXT’s had. Taunting Jack Swagger and pinning Damien Sandow just aren't impressive feats, even if there is a giant hamburger nearby.
They also took away his original theme, “World Gone Wild”, and replaced it with an inferior soundalike, just to make sure no one would have fun of any stripe while Adam Rose was in the ring.
It's almost enough to make a guy strap on a pair of vanity spectacles and cut listless promos about poop.
