Perhaps the most known entrant in the Mae Young Classic - certainly among certain smarkier fans - Candice played the role of pure babyface to an absolute tee. She smiled and waved during her entrances, before proceeding to kick ass in the ring.
The wife of Johnny Gargano convincingly saw off Renee Michelle and Nicole Savoy, drawing great support from the crowd along the way, before falling to Shayne Baszler in the most gut-wrenching result of the entire tournament. From the moment Baszler caught her in the rear naked choke, LeRae's true purpose in the tournament became clear: a sympathetic sacrificial lamb. Yes, many of us would have liked to see her go all the way, but there truly was nobody better suited to her role. Candice was perhaps the best booked woman in the Classic, and carried out these plans wonderfully.
