Of course it was going to be Kairi Sane.

The STARDOM favourite (known in Japan as Kairi Hojo) entered the tournament with a considerable amount of hype surrounding her; even those unfamiliar with her ringwork couldn't have escaped various social media posts and in-the-know articles lauding her as one of the best wrestlers - male or female - on the planet.

It's fair to say that Sane didn't disappoint. She put on (probably) the Classic's best opening round match with Tessa Blanchard, before playing the sympathetic babyface role to perfection against breakout rookie Bianca Belair. A very impressive quarterfinal with Dakota Kai saw high-flying action and inventive reversals - most notably Sane straightening her body in the tree of woe to avoid a double foot stomp - before that semifinal against Toni Storm.

Wonderful action from top to bottom courtesy of WWE's newest sensation, and that's without even mentioning her jaw-dropping finishing move. Should she win the final? Yes, absolutely. Will she?

We'll see...
