All 8 WWE Universal Champions Ranked Worst To Best
7. Braun Strowman
From the moment Braun Strowman arrived in WWE as a member of The Wyatt Family, he looked destined to become a future world champion. His combination of size, strength and athleticism made it easy to see The Monster Among Men was a star in waiting.
Unfortunately, despite vast improvements in his six-year tenure in WWE, Strowman would only win one World Championship. At the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, Roman Reigns would leave WWE, cancelling his planned Universal Title match with Goldberg at WrestleMania 36. A replacement at the last minute, Braun would step up, defeating Goldberg to win the Universal Championship.
A lacklustre reign would follow, with Braun's first month as champion seeing title defenses against Shinsuke Nakamura and a Fiend-less Bray Wyatt. This was followed by a month of The Monster Among Men fending off pranks from The Miz and John Morrison and defeating the two in a handicap match. There was also a ridiculous Wyatt Swamp Fight between Bray and Braun that would lead to a Falls Count Anywhere match where The Fiend would recapture the Universal Title.
This would be the final championship that Braun Strowman would hold in WWE before he was released in early 2021.
