All NXT Champions Ranked - From Worst To Best

4. Kevin Owens

Seth Rollins NXT Champion

Kevin Owens was NXT Champion for just 143 days, but no one made more of a splash in quicker time than the Headlock Master. Just 62 days after arriving in NXT, Owens was standing tall as its champion, beating Sami Zayn via referee stoppage to pick up the strap at NXT TakeOver: Rival. No man has won the title in quicker time - not by a long shot.

It was also during his tenure as NXT Champion that Owens made his arrival on the main roster, challenging John Cena of all people. Owens would go on to defeat Cena at WWE Elimination Chamber 2015, clean in the middle of the ring.

Owens wouldn't exactly have a championship reign that defined the championship, but he did get in successful defences against Zayn, Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe, and ushered in the new era of the brand in the process.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
