5. Big E. Langston

Seth Rollins NXT Champion

Back when he was still a Langston, Big E. became the second ever NXT Champion when he defeated Seth Rollins on an episode of NXT TV. Rollins was embedded on the main roster with The Shield at the time, so the win for Langston came in a No Disqualification match in order to somewhat protect Rollins. It mattered little, and the popular Langston was champ.

He held the title for 168 days before dropping it in similar circumstances himself, in essence to rid himself of the belt in order to stick up on the main roster. Along the way he defeated a curious selection of challengers, including Connor O'Brian, Corey Graves, Damien Sandow, and even Brad Maddox.

Langston was expected to do big things on the main roster, but his development largely stalled until a New Day dawned on the big man's career. It would take a brave man to bet against big show main events in his future now.
