A further evolution of The Undertaker's biker gimmick, Big Evil saw 'The Phenom' cut his signature long hair and adopt a bad attitude as he officially turned heel for the first time in three years.

Here's the thing with this one: It worked incredibly well at the start, as the big bad bully facet of the 'Deadman Inc' persona felt very timely and it was unquestionably a great method of allowing a mortal Undertaker to maintain a level of intimidation about him in an era that was less about mythical monsters. And putting the title on him added to that, giving youngsters a beast to slay in their journey to the main event scene.

His level of in-ring work also significantly improved from his American Badass days as he was in better shape and, for the most part, the contests were more enjoyable.

The issue, however, is that after his brilliant face turn led him to the end of a strong year in 2002, the quality of the character began to decrease as he became more and more diluted and, well, mortal. And, following that, the company struggled to find feuds of substance for him.
