The seventh NXT Tag Team Champions, Aiden English and Simon Gotch finally won the gold at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, beating Blake and Murphy for the straps. They had grown wildly in popularity by this point, and despite it being blindingly clear to all that Enzo & Big Cass should have defeated Blake and Murphy it was The Vaudevillains who got the nod.

Their tag title run was somewhat disappointing, but it did answer a few questions that were up in the air at the time. Aiden English was clearly a great talent, but during their face NXT run Simon Gotch truly stepped up the plate as an equally great talent, displaying some impressive babyface fire on the hot tag.

Their reign lasted just two months, the second shortest in the history of the titles, but it served as a much deserved last hurrah for English and Gotch in NXT.
