Near the very end of the film, viewers gain some unexpected insight into Vince McMahon himself, who states that Andre wanted to blame him for the post-Mania downturn of his career, which coincided tragically with his lessening physical abilities.

Of their relationship in later years, he said, "No longer was it this loving, warming admiration we had for each other. it wasn't there."

Vince is then asked if he remembers the last time he spoke to Andre and Vince says "not specifically", before knowingly adding, "I have a facility to get rid of negatives very quickly, and if something hurts me, I get rid of it."

That line alone says a hell of a lot about Vince and his process both personally and professionally. Nevertheless, when asked if Andre's death affected him more than other passings, a near-tearful Vince simply added, "He was special."

Considering how difficult it can be sometimes to identify with Vince as an actual human being, this was a sobering and illuminating moment.
