Are John Cena & Nikki Bella Working You?

WrestleMania 33 John Cena Nikki Bella

Nikki 'breaking her silence' on The Bella Twins' YouTube channel generated over half a million views in hours despite the 3:03 selfie blog barely scratching the surface of their severance - though her manicured fingernails did scratch the glass casing of a 'One Million Subscribers' reward recently received. She plugged her own wine and the start of the new season of Total Bellas too, before waiting for the last few seconds to suggest that she'll "talk about it another time". News of the original engagement earned 6.8million views - clickers clearly prefer love life to love death.

Total Bellas remains the crux of why the demise and rebirth of their relationship could be all about the numbers. Original project Total Divas was recently renewed for two more seasons, but E! Network were less forthcoming about the future of the sister show. The most recent slice of salaciousness ties both shows together again - rumours emerged of a new relationship forming between Cena and Carmella. Rumour and innuendo at best, but powerful enough to encourage office colleagues to leap out of their seats and in to conversations at the mere thought of it.

A presumed ratings spike as a result of the brand new heartbreak (not to mention the toxicity around rumoured rebounding) could provide a comfort blanket to wrap around a reunited Nikki and John if and when their paths eventually across again shortly before the next season begins. The year cycle between life events could even facilitate a WrestleMania revival between the lovelorn pair, with a second proposal being potentially the most eagerly awaited 'Grandest Stage' rematch since The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin went to war in 2001. That show stood for years as the company's highest-drawing pay-per-view before Cena's first WWE Title win at WrestleMania 21 helped smash it - could an even more garish item of jewellery once again be a big money-spinner for 'The Champ'?
