Assessing The Futures Of 10 WWE Stars Who Didn’t Make Royal Rumble 2020 Cut

9. R-Truth

Another surprise is that WWE didn't shoehorn some 24/7 Title silliness into the Rumble. That seemed like a gimme before the event, if only because it'd have allowed for some comedy relief. Of course, WWE had already booked some of that with Santino Marella in the women's match, so it could've been overkill.

Instead, R-Truth is doomed to continue trading the funny belt with Mojo Rawley.

This isn't an awful spot for Truth to be in though. He was hardly going to be bothering the top slots at 'Mania anyway, and his inclusion in the 30-man match would have been played for laughs and nothing else. Provided he can stay healthy and keep cracking up crowds with his delusional banter, then Truth will be fine in 2020.

The 34-time 24/7 7-Eleven European Television Champion still has a role to play in the company. It's a limited one, granted, but he's successfully reinvented himself as the king of quirkiness at 48 years old. That, if nothing else, deserves some credit.
