Assessing The Likelihood Of WWE.com’s 2019 Wishlist

5. Mustafa Ali Becomes WWE Champ

Mustafa Ali WWE Title

What WWE.com Wants: A WWE Title run for ex-205 Live standout and Mortal Kombat-inspired Mustafa Ali that'd add to his impressive rise from Cruiserweight to genuine superstar on the main roster.

How Likely It is: A lot less than Drew McIntyre's, that's for sure.

If anyone had suggested that Ali would even be in the World Title conversation when he worked WrestleMania 34's pre-show, people might've laughed. At the time, Mustafa was more likely to tangle with Ariya Daivari on 205 than beat Daniel Bryan or tag-team with AJ Styles on Tuesday nights. Now, things have changed.

That gives him hope, but this would still be quite the surprise. Though Ali is popular, talented and has a marketable look (that Sub-Zero stuff is bad ass), he's not the typical WWE Champ. Still, he's similar to Bryan, AJ and others, and could help SmackDown stand out from Raw as a more wrestling-centric product.
