Backstage Heat On AEW Stars

Bad news for La Faccion Ingobernable fans...

It's been an incredibly stop-start run for La Faccion Ingobernable in AEW, but a leftfield pairing with Jake Roberts in the second half of last year suggested a renewed TV focus for the faction. However, bar the Beast Mortos, it's now approaching two months since any other members of LFI have been in AEW action.

For those wondering why we haven't seen Rush or Dralistico in a little while, Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp notes how there is heat on the pair following their match against Richard Holliday and Alec Price on the 15 November edition of AEW Rampage.

Taped on 13 November, that tag bout was a fairly standard three-minute squash match win for Rush and Dralistico. In a moment unaired, though, Holliday was stomped on post-match by the LFI men while he was being checked on by a doctor. This check was a legitimate one by a legitimate doctor, who was legitimately angry at Rush and Dralistico. As such, the two now have some heat on them for their actions.

Prior to this, La Faccion Ingobernable were scheduled to beat the Acclaimed on the 16 November edition of AEW Collision, which would have in turn seen the group earn themselves a spot on the AEW Full Gear 2024 card. Instead, plans were changed and that Collision contest saw Rush and the Beast Mortos lose to Anthony Bowens and Max Caster.

As alluded to, the Beast Mortos has remained a regular part of AEW programming throughout the end of 2024 and into 2025 - including being a part of the Continental Classic - and any heat is seemingly just on Rush and Dralistico.

La Faccion Ingobernable In AEW

It's been very much a mixed bag when it comes to La Faccion Ingobernable in AEW.

Beginning life as simply Los Ingobernables in CMLL back in 2014, the wider La Faccion Ingobernable and its offshoots have gone on to have a notable presence in NJPW, ROH, AAA, and AEW. In terms of how the group is made up during its current AEW iteration, Rush heads up a version of the stable that includes Dralistico, the Beast Mortos, and the legendary Jake Roberts.

Previously, this AEW version of LFI also featured Dragon Lee, Jose the Assistant, Preston Vance, and Andrade El Idolo - with Andrade, under his La Sambra moniker, being a founding member of the initial Los Ingobernables.

As for Jake Roberts, many were caught off-guard when Jake the Snake aligned with Rush, Dralistico, and the Beast Mortos on the Title Tuesday episode of AEW Dynamite back in October. Earlier that night, Roberts had agreed a deal for Lance Archer to join the Callis Family. In return for giving up the services of the Murderhawk Monster, Roberts teased a surprise for later that night. That surprise? That would see Jake come out to the stage to reveal LFI as his new clients. Despite this, Roberts has barely been on TV since.
