With Cameron Grimes the latest name to be released by WWE, there's now word on the reaction to this decision.

Via Fightful Select, Grimes' release was an unexpected one by many within WWE for a multitude of reasons. The North Carolina native's in-ring skills and ability to get himself over were viewed as being at a higher level than the other names released across this past week or so, and Grimes was constantly looking at ways to improve between the ropes. On top of this, the former Million Dollar Champion and NXT North American Champion was at last week's SmackDown, and was also a regular at WWE TV even when he wasn't being used.

As many predicted, Fightful notes that Grimes - who has reverted to his Trevor Lee moniker - is expected to be flooded by bookings on the independent scene as and when his WWE 90-day non-compete is up. Already, several top indies have told the outlet of their intention to book the hugely talented 30-year-old.

The other names released lately are Jinder Mahal, Veer, Sanga, Xia Lia, Xyon Quinn, and Von Wagner, with Mahal another who reportedly already has "heavy interest" from other promotions.
