With WWE having released several wrestlers across the past few days, the company has now released Cameron Grimes.

A hugely talented performer with so much upside, Grimes - reverting to his Trevor Lee moniker - took to X last night to reveal this news in an emotional video where he thanked WWE and said how this release has lit a fire under his ass.

Still only 30 years of age, Trevor Lee Caddell - the son of former wrestler Tracy Caddell - signed with WWE at the start of 2019, being assigned to NXT and given the name of Cameron Grimes. There, Grimes eventually became one of the most popular acts on the brand and had championship success by winning both the Million Dollar Title and the NXT North American Title.

The North Carolina native moved to SmackDown in May of last year as part of the 2023 Draft, but he sadly was never really given a chance on the main roster. So much so, he only had ten televised main roster matches since that May '23 call-up, the last of which being a one-minute loss to Bron Breakker earlier this month.

Prior to joining WWE, the second-generation star made a name for himself as Trevor Lee in the likes of PWG, TNA, and OMEGA. As mentioned, Lee/Grimes ticks so many boxes in terms of in-ring talent and personality, and he'll be a great addition to whichever company snaps him up next - and one has to imagine he'll have no lack of suitors keen to bring him in when his 90-day WWE non-compete is up.

Cameron Grimes joins Jinder Mahal, Sanga, Veer, Xia Li, Xyon Quinn, and Von Wagner in being released by WWE.
