Following his WWE release, there's already "heavy interest" in Jinder Mahal.

With WWE making several releases over the past few days, one released name already garnering "heavy interest" is Jinder Mahala.

As Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp noted on his latest Backstage Report, GCW is one promotion with particular interest in the Modern Day Maharaja.

"Jinder Mahal has already got heavy interest from companies about coming in, whether it be independents or whatever. GCW is foaming at the mouth to book this guy, and they should, especially with Matt Cardona out. Jinder Mahal would probably do really well there. The Bollywood Boyz are there, as well."

A former WWE Champion, Mahal was the biggest name from WWE's latest batch of releases. Joining him in being let go by the market leader were the Indus Sher duo of Sanga and Veer, Xia Li, Xyon Quinn, and Von Wagner.

As alluded to there, Matt Cardona has had to undergo surgery for a pec tear which will leave him out of action for several months. The Death Match King has been a significant player for GCW over the past several years, including shocking the world by defeating Nick Gage to become the GCW World Champion. With Cardona on the shelf, Jinder Mahal would certainly be an interesting option for GCW to bring in.

Likewise, some fans are suggesting Mahal as a fun fit for AEW given how Tony Khan took a mild dig at Jinder at the turn of the year after he was given a shot at Seth Rollins' World Heavyweight Championship at a time when AEW was criticised for giving HOOK a crack at Samoa Joe's AEW World Title.

Here's hoping that all of those released wrestlers can find work should they be looking to remain in the industry. And on that front, those talents all have a 90-day non-compete in place before they can make their next move.
