Could Baron Corbin be set for a shock return to WWE? Maybe...

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that a Corbin return has been "talked about," but that he's not heard of any deal being finalised as of yet. The Observer founder also speculated that the former WWE United States Champion's return could be tied to Danhausen's backstage segment on last week's SmackDown.

For those who missed SmackDown, Danhausen was shown tinkering away in his 'lab' and promising to deliver "something even bigger and better" as the Very Nice, Very Evil sensation wheeled out a gurney. Of course, this comes on the heels of several Minihausens - miniature clones of Danhausen - appearing at Backlash.

With a football and Golden Gloves background, the real-life Tom Pestock signed with WWE in 2012, taking on the Baron Corbin moniker and remaining with the company until late 2024. During that time, he'd become a standout of NXT as the Lone Wolf, made his main roster debut by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32, won the Money in the Bank briefcase in 2017 - unsuccessfully cashing in against Jinder Mahal - became King of the Ring in 2019, went from Sad Corbin to Happy Corbin, and had a stellar second run with NXT.

Since departing WWE, Baron has gone by the Bishop Dyer name, working for the likes of MLW, Maple Leaf Pro, CMLL, GCW/Bloodsport, and House of Glory, as well as working a dark match for AEW. He's currently one half of the MLW Tag Team Champions with Donovan Dijak.
