Becky Lynch & Bayley To Wrestle For "First Time Ever" On WWE SmackDown

HUGE match set for this week's WWE SmackDown Live.

Becky Lynch faces a tough night at 19 May's Money In The Bank pay-per-view, where she'll put her WWE Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships on the line in separate singles matches with Lacey Evans and Charlotte Flair respectively. But first, she must overcome an old acquaintance on this week's SmackDown.

As announced on WWE.com, 'The Man' will face off against Bayley "for the first time ever in WWE" on Tuesday evening.

Of course, the marketing is complete nonsense. While Bayley and Becky have never gone one-on-one on the main roster, and have only ever met in Raw or SmackDown rings as part of Royal Rumbles and Survivor Series bouts, they wrestled each other in five televised NXT bouts, with Becky winning the series 3-2.

Regardless, this non-title bout should hit the mark. Bayley showed hints of a stronger, more focused character prior to wrestling Flair in last week's number one contender's bout. She was unsuccessful, but lost little in defeat, and should be expected to play a big role in the SmackDown women's division going forward.

Expect Flair to get involved, perhaps as a guest commentator, and for a shenanigan-filled finish to add further fuel to their long-term feud.
