Becky Lynch was vulnerable and let down her guard when she welcomed help from WWE Hall-of-Famers Lita and Trish Stratus earlier this year against Damage CTRL, and that opened the door for a betrayal that will likely come to a head at Night of Champions.

Stratus filled in for an injured Lita (who she had attacked) and lost the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship alongside Lynch last month before turning on and laying out Becky. The Man would disappear from WWE television for a few weeks before returning last week to get a measure of retribution.

Monday night, Lynch focused her rage into a challenge for the upcoming premium live event, calling Trish a "backstabbing egomaniac" who wants to be #1 in the women's division again, but is just going to get her head kicked in at Night of Champions.

The build to this match has been pretty lackluster since Stratus' turn, as the Hall-of-Famer's "Thank you Trish" promos have fallen well short of the mark, and the odd decision to call Becky's daughter stupid really didn't land. Not having the two interact save for last week's brief fight hasn't helped matters.

However, we'll get a contract signing on next week's Raw, so they'll have one last chance to bring it home before NOC. Here's hoping the match delivers on the night, as it will be Stratus' first singles match since losing to Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam 2019.
