Best (And Worst) Of NXT 2016
6. Best Feud Of The Year: Bálor Vs. Joe
To put it mildly, NXT isn't the best at creating and maintaining feuds within the show. There's usually one for each championship, and an extra mini feud just to keep the card moving. But this year especially had some of the better feud development in recent history, especially with long time talent making the transition to the main stage.
When it comes to this year in feuds, Bayley vs. Asuka definitely comes to mind, although it was rather one sided throughout. Now that he has proved human, the Nakamura vs. Joe feud finally feels eventful and must watch. However, the only feud this year that was truly epic started in 2015, and kept getting better with age.
I'm talking of course of Finn vs. Joe. For the better part of the year, these two were going back and forth over who really was the main man of NXT. Bálor had Joe pretty early on, with some great wins at NXT Dallas and London. But a house show in Massachusetts turned Joe into the ruthless champion we know of today. One cage match later and we had one of the most iconic feuds in NXT history, right behind Owens vs. Zayn.
