Booking NXT TakeOver: New Jersey - 10 Matches That Could Happen

6. The Undisputed Era Vs #DIY For The NXT Tag Team Championships

Tommasso Ciampa vs Aleister Black vs Johnny Gargano
WWE

This is easily the most intriguing and complex idea on this list.

Tommasso Ciampa is currently your NXT Champion and, to put it lightly, a bit of a douche. As for Johnny Gargano, well, he's gone off the deep end, believing his acts of evil are actually heroic.

This presents an interesting scenario for the former NXT Tag Team Champions and, if rumours are true, as they both now seem to be on the dark side. If certain rumours are true, one of NXT's most popular tag teams could be getting back together, but not how you remember them.

Let me explain how this could work. Ciampa loses his NXT Championship, and is furious. To try and win a title back, he goes to his old pal, Johnny, and persuades him to reunite #DIY. Perhaps the two could win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, earning them a Tag Team title match in New Jersey.

The match itself would appear to be heel vs heel, but the main story of the bout would be Johnny confronting his demons and finally scoring his revenge on Ciampa.

Ciampa could cheat in this match and have the belts won, when Johnny snaps out of his dark spell and blasts Ciampa with a superkick, leaving him lying in the ring. The Era retain the tag titles and Johnny gets his revenge on Ciampa, denying him the gold and leaving NXT to go up to the main roster with the fans back on his side.

Yes, this would work better with a face team as champions, but there isn't really enough time to take the belts off of The Era and establish new champions in their place. Also, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong, Tommasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano in one match together?

You'd be mad to turn that down.
