Bray Wyatt In Talks Over WWE Return
WWE swoop to re-sign 'The Fiend' in sensational comeback coup?
WWE and Bray Wyatt have held talks over a potential return for the former 'Fiend', who has been a free agent since departing the market-leading promotion in July 2021.
This is per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He reports that while the talks stalled at one point, the issue isn't dead.
Wyatt had previously found himself in a similar situation when attempting to negotiate with other promotions, with his asking price reportedly above what prospective employers were willing to pay. At the time of his WWE release, he was amongst the company's highest-paid stars, operating on the tier below Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. Beyond those two, it was believed that Wyatt, Randy Orton, and Ronda Rousey were the best-paid wrestlers in the world.
WWE's recent regime change, specifically Paul 'Triple H' Levesque's promotion to creative lead, has sparked a spate of returns to the promotion, including Bray's former Wyatt Family stablemate, Braun Strowman. As the biggest free agent left on the market, Bray remains the subject of mass speculation regarding his former home promotion.
The 35-year-old has not competed since his shocking WWE release, though he has appeared at a handful of wrestling conventions.
