Brock Lesnar is back in WWE.

The former Universal Champion returned at the end of tonight's SummerSlam 2021 pay-per-view, closing the show after effectively running Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman out of the ring. Reigns and Lesnar didn't get physical - but it's clear they will soon.

Reigns successfully defended his Universal strap against John Cena in the night's main event. It was another dominant showing from Roman, who controlled much of the first two acts, survived some big bombs in the third, then put Cena away after hitting the decisive Spear.

Cue: the Las Vegas crowd going nuts as Lesnar's music hit and the new-look Beast hit the ring, topknot and all. Heyman was the first to freak out, leaving the ring as his former charge hit the scene, and while Reigns went face-to-face with Brock and teased getting physical, he was soon heading up the ramp himself.

This was the first time Lesnar has appeared on a WWE show since WrestleMania 36, where he dropped the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre. The summer of 2020 saw him technically become a free agent as his contract expired, though he was always expected to return to Vince McMahon's promotion. Now, he's back.
