Brock Lesnar’s 33 WWE PPV Matches Ranked From Worst To Best
7. Vs. Kurt Angle - WrestleMania XIX
As good as their SummerSlam match was, it wasn't as good as their WrestleMania XIX encounter. Angle and Lesnar had their first ever meeting on the grandest stage. As compelling as the in-ring action, which featured all the hard strikes, suplexes and big moves you'd expect, behind-the-scenes there were even more interesting stories developing... It wasn't a guarantee that Angle would wrestle on the night, for one thing. He had a serious neck injury that required major, potentially career-ending surgery. Angle knew that one wrong bump could leave him wheelchair-bound but decided to perform anyway. With this being The Next Big Thing's first WrestleMania appearance (in the show-closer, no less) WWE officials wanted to create a WrestleMania moment for him. Knowing that Lesnar used to regularly perform a breathtaking shooting star press in OVW, Jim Ross and other officials tried to convince Lesnar to do the move for the finish of the match. Lesnar hadn't performed the move in over a year and botched it on the night, sending him down onto his face in a scary moment. He recovered and the two men improvised with another F5 to crown Lesnar champion.
