Brock Lesnar's WWE SummerSlam Matches: Ranked From Worst To Best
4. The Rock (2002)
Lesnar’s 2002 SummerSlam appearance from his first run with WWE was the moment at which he arrived. It was a match that represented so much more than just the Undisputed Championship on the line. With The Rock off to Hollywood and Lesnar being billed as the next big thing, this clash felt like a passing of the torch.
The match itself was a fantastic, fast paced, adrenaline fuelled battle that showcased two athletes at the very top of their game. The Rock’s selling put Lesnar over as a force to be reckoned with in a main event that maintained a sense of urgency throughout. So over was Lesnar by the summer of his debut year that fans even booed 'The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment' despite him being the baby face.
This is one of those once in a lifetime matches where all the pieces fell into place at the right time. It stands alone as a one off classic that has never been afforded the sequel it deserves.
