Cesaro In WWE: Where Did It All Go Wrong
4. WWE Splitting The Bar
A fantastic run alongside Sheamus blossomed from a feud between the pair on Raw. It took WWE a while, but they eventually chucked their might behind the tag-team, dubbed them 'The Bar' and had this Cesaro/Sheamus connection win the brand's tag belts four times (they also bagged the SmackDown versions once).
Sheamus' rugged, hard-hitting style complemented Cesaro's own technical excellence well, and it seemed like the E had stumbled upon quite the duo. So, naturally, they decided to split them by 2019. That might not seem like a problem to some (they had a near-three year run), but it was totally unnecessary.
The split didn't even come via storyline - it came when Sheamus was struck down by injury and WWE separated them in the latest Draft. This brainless decision halted Cesaro's momentum yet again and forced him to readjust to singles life when the promotion blatantly had nothing for him to do.
Rinse and repeat, eh?
