While Punk and Bray Wyatt have crossed paths before, most notably in a two-on-three handicap match that saw Punk team with Daniel Bryan to face Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan at Survivor Series last November, they never had that rivalry that probably would have resulted in some of the best mic work WWE has ever seen. To know that WWE fans have been robbed of quality interactions like the ones Punk and Wyatt would have delivered is mightily disappointing. Still, one cannot help but wonder what the feud could have consisted of. Wyatt calling out Punk's Straight Edge ways and promising to turn him onto vices in an attempt to prove that no one is as loyal to their convictions as the former WWE champion would make for some truly intriguing television. Both are incredible storytellers and what they could have done between the ropes to convey their emotions and tell their story to an international viewing audience would have been truly special. Punk, a smart performer who understands the importance of putting over young talent to ensure the future of the industry, would like have gone out of his way to make Wyatt a star. While John Cena is doing a fine job of that right now, the creative team still protects the Superman-like character far too much to really go all-out in putting Wyatt over. Punk would have done just that.
