CM Punk: 10 Great WWE Feuds We Never Got To See

4. Sheamus

Within mere months of his WWE debut, Sheamus was already a WWE champion feuding with the face of the company, John Cena. However, the faster the rise, the faster the fall and Sheamus was no exception. Following his feuds with Triple H and Randy Orton in 2010, Sheamus was dropped down to the midcard where he had to prove himself to the higher ups and fans alike that he was worthy of another shot in the main event scene. It wasn't until WrestleMania 28 that he was finally holding world title again. As a fan favorite, Sheamus is extremely over with audiences, but one reason he is so stagnant at the moment is because he's worked with every heel on the roster. Fans lost count of how many matches Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio had together after a dozen, and his feud with Orton has also been done to death. As a heel, though, there were/are plenty of possibilities for fresh feuds involving Sheamus with CM Punk being one them. Granted, Punk might not be an option at the moment, but these two could have had a great feud either in 2012 or 2013. They faced off on the debut episode of WWE Main Event in October 2012 and once again on Raw a few weeks later with both matches being won by Punk. Their brief segment together on the 2012 Labor Day edition of Raw was a small preview of how well they work together both in the ring and on the mic, so why they never feuded at any point is beyond me. Punk and Sheamus may not be the perfect match, but you'd be surprised by the chemistry they actually posses. The two former world champions bring the best out in each other and a rivalry between them could have done wonders for both competitors regardless of who was the heel and who was the face. Punk and Sheamus are two of the most successful stars in the last five years and to think that they never feuded at any point is absolutely stunning.
