For several years, CM Punk was recognized by fans as the best mic worker in WWE. That became debatable once Bray Wyatt arrived on the WWE scene in July 2013, now having since taken that title with Punk gone from the company. Wyatt has cut some of the most consistently cryptic and entertaining promos in years, striking fear in not only his opponents but the entire WWE Universe. When Wyatt speaks, you listen. It's as academic as that. Disregarding their tenure in The New Nexus together (at which time Wyatt was going by the name of Husky Harris), Punk and Wyatt briefly crossed paths in the final months of 2013. The Wyatt Family set their sights on Punk as well as Daniel Bryan, but the dynamic duo rebelled against the group. At Survivor Series, The Best and The Beard defeated Luke Harper and Erick Rowan in tag team action. From there, Bryan transitioned into a one-on-one feud with Bray Wyatt while Punk moved into a feud with The Shield. While they were never able to square off in singles competition at any point, Punk and Wyatt still technically rivals at one point. However, it wasn't for a long enough time and the two could seriously do some damage to each other on the microphone if they were given the chance. With wins over Bryan and John Cena, Wyatt defeating Punk could have catapulted him into super stardom almost instantly. It's a shame they weren't able to engage in a true feud before Punk's departure, and that in and of itself can be seen as a missed opportunity.
