CM Punk: 10 Reasons He Will Be Back In WWE Before Long
4. Ego
As much as his love for pro wrestling, CM Punk also has an ego for it. He genuinely believes he is the best in the world. He's a mark for himself. That's perhaps partly why he walked out this past January, he realised WWE didn't value him as the number one star, so he took off. It's well known that Punk has always wanted to go on last at a WrestleMania. He previously stated that it was his remaining career goal, acknowledging on the 'Best In The World' DVD that it drove him nuts to see The Miz get the spot ahead of him in 2011. That's down to Punk's inflated sense of self, his ego demands that he should be positioned in the main events. Some fans have speculated that finding out he wouldn't be in the main event of WrestleMania 30 was the final straw for him this January. With that being said, Punk's ego could see him returning if WWE ever came to him with a main event offer. The show closing slot of a future WrestleMania would get him back to work. Would WWE be so bold as to make that offer? Unlikely, but they would definitely promise him the world and a string of main events if he did return. That might be enough for Punk. A bit of grovelling from WWE, a bit of massaging Punk's ego, it could well go some way to getting him back.
