CM Punk: 10 Talking Points About His WWE Exit And Future Return

9. Why Won't WWE Be Upfront About Punk's Exit?

Cm Punk Vince Mcmahon The deafening silence from both WWE and CM Punk has only fuelled the exit interest further. We believe the truth of the matter is Punk took unauthorised leave, with the WWE initially remaining silent on the matter because they hoped he would return to work. The WWE know that Punk's a valuable asset, he was tied in with the Scooby Doo movie and other projects, they didn't want to lose him. It was hoped that Punk would cool off and get back to business. The turning point was the March 3rd Raw in Chicago. This was the event WWE hoped Punk would return for, on offer was one of the hottest angles in pro wrestling, turning the walkout into a worked shoot in Punk's hometown. Phil Brooks however remained away from the WWE. That's when the company started turning on the former star. The following weeks witnessed the company subtly start digging into Punk. Chicago Raw was handled brilliantly to kill his buzz with the impression he would come back. On following Raw's we witnessed Triple H say he respected Daniel Bryan "because you don't just give up, you don't just take your ball and go home." It was an obvious dig at Punk who also found his legacy edited out of WWE history, his battle with The Undertaker last year was removed from a Raw streak video. The fact that these smears only started after March 3rd suggests that WWE fully expected Punk would get back to work up until that point. Their continued silence now is because they believe commenting officially would only further shine a light back on the CM Punk story. As such, the lack of company clarification continues.
