This is an obvious one but might also be too dated now. At the Royal Rumble, Punk was owning the match and Kane had already been eliminated. The Corporate sell-out returned, however, and eliminated Punk. That was the last we saw of the straight-edged superstar. Things have changed in the past month though. Effectively, Daniel Bryan has taken Punk's spot in the Authority storyline. He took on Kane last week and also challenged Triple H to a match. How does Punk fit into this now? Well, as WWE Creative isn't the most original and joined up part of the corporation, have Punk attacking Kane backstage would be enough to insert him back into the storyline. Would it make a whole lot of sense? No, but WWE doesn't care about this. They're probably more worried about their heel versus heel WM Main Event right now. Punk and Bryan could even tag together tonight as they go against Kane and HHH. That would make sense and also bring HHH back into the ring before WrestleMania. Brock Lesnar might only fight on PPV's but HHH could be brought in for a match which would no doubt be over-booked to the hilt and save the 'true' Triple H match for the big one.
