CM Punk: 5 Reasons He Won't Be Back For WrestleMania 30

4. Punk Looks Happy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSl-l3AZHAg CM Punk appeared on television for the first time since the Royal Rumble on Sunday, March 16th, as a guest on Talking Dead€”AMC€™s talk show following The Walking Dead. He was billed as Phil Brooks, his real name, despite being better known by his wrestling persona, CM Punk. As expected, there was no talk surrounding his situation, or the WWE, or any other non-Walking Dead material. Host Chris Hardwick even went to great lengths to continuously call him Phil Brooks instead of CM Punk. It was a very odd and surreal moment for many of us Punk fans. But you know what? He looked good. He looked happy. Fans familiar with CM Punk and his tenure in the WWE will recall seeing a much more haggard-looking individual, with deep bags under his eyes and an exhausted expression on his face. The guy on Talking Dead exhibited none of those traits. He looked refreshed, clean, and healthy. He smiled more often than not, and even joked with fellow guest Yvette Nicole Brown on how he€™s €œa totally new person,€ and €œall about forgiveness.€ Those comments can be dissected to death, but if you take them at face value, it makes sense. It€™s very possible that Punk was unhappy with his direction in the WWE for a long time, and it was eating at him. It€™s possible the bumps and bruises added up over the years, and he needed a real breather to recover. He may only be 35, but remember Punk has been doing this for a living since his late teens. That€™s close to twenty years of sustained in-ring action€”a mark most wrestlers don€™t achieve. Without the burden of worrying about the WWE, along with removal from a grueling work schedule, it€™s reasonable to believe he truly feels like a new person. Probably a much better person. The second comment will get the most scrutiny, merely because people will assume that if he€™s €œall about forgiveness,€ then there€™s a chance he€™s forgiven those in the WWE, and would be open to a return. That may be, but for the time being, it€™s doubtful. Forgiveness does not imply a return. Nor does it imply he was speaking about the WWE at all. It€™s possible this was a throwaway comment. Even taken literally, if he has forgiven WWE, there appears to be no movement toward a return. It could be he€™s forgiven WWE, and decided to move on.
