CM Punk: 5 Reasons He Won't Be Back For WrestleMania 30

3. There€™s No Room At Wrestlemania 30

This may be difficult for a lot of fans to accept, but CM Punk will not be promoted for any match at Wrestlemania 30. He hasn€™t even been shown in videos of past Wrestlemanias up to this point, including promo videos for the Undertaker, who he wrestled last year in a match that stole the show. But beyond the WWE scrubbing him from history, there€™s simply no room for him at this year€™s show. Yes, the card is not finalized, but that will change this week, and you can expect it to be complete very shortly. The three storlylines that even make remote sense for Punk to be involved in are the Undertaker and Lesnar, the Triple H battle with Daniel Bryan, and the title picture. Taker and Lesnar will be a one-on-one competition, and while nobody will be surprised if Heyman interferes, it€™s impossible that Punk somehow enters this fray. The only issue the WWE has with this match is how they are going to generate interest, given the Undertaker€™s streak, and their propensity for keeping it going. Lesnar winning would be a shock, to put it mildly, and it doesn€™t seem likely the Undertaker would want his streak finished in this fashion. Nor the WWE. It€™s the longest running storyline in WWE history, and so long as both sides feel they can get more out of it, they will. Triple H and CM Punk were originally slated to square off at Wrestlemania 30, but it was reported that Punk didn€™t want this. Punk apparently felt this wasn€™t enough of a consolation prize for being removed from the main event, despite industry insiders (including Triple H) feeling this was a privilege. Punk clearly didn€™t agree. Whatever the reasons really are, the match has since changed to Triple H and Daniel Bryan. For now, this is a major moment for the WWE, in that the winner advances to the title match later in the night. This won€™t be disrupted at all, since doing so would undermine an otherwise brilliant structure. The final chance would come during the main event, but seeing as how Bryan will likely beat Triple H, adding another wrestler holds no real value. The best chance for seeing Punk, however, would come here€”although it€™s a longshot. He wouldn€™t wrestle, per se, but some kind of interference isn€™t out of the question. It€™s just highly, highly unlikely. All of the WWE€™s efforts in the past month have been building toward this. To sabotage it with outside interference doesn€™t make a lot of sense, and it€™s not something anyone is likely to see.
