CM Punk: 5 Reasons He Will Return At WWE Payback

2. Daniel Bryan Is Out Of Action With No Timetable For His Return

After the shocking announcement by Daniel Bryan on RAW this past Monday, the WWE Champion may miss significant time due to his neck surgery. A timetable for his return is unknown, although it has been rumored to be in the 6-8 week range. Daniel Bryan is a big fan favorite, and his absence will create a void in the WWE. Other than John Cena and The Shield, WWE is in need of a strong baby face as their locker room is stacked with heels at the moment. Another dilemma is that the WWE is in the middle of their youth movement and still trying to establish some of these young stars. To complicate matters even more, the status of the WWE Championship will be addressed this Monday on RAW by Triple H, and it seems likely that Bryan will be stripped of the title. If that's the case, who becomes the champion? The list of top guys in the WWE at the moment is a short one. Randy Orton was the former champion, but his last title reign was forgettable and his character has become stale. Batista is set to leave again to promote his movie, and his return back to the company has been a disaster. Kane was set to challenge Daniel Bryan for the title, but at this stage in his career it would be hard to put the championship on him. Brock Lesnar is coming off a historic victory over The Undertaker, but he is a part time wrestler who isn't scheduled to return until SummerSlam. John Cena seems to be the logical solution, but he is in the middle of a big feud with Bray Wyatt. WWE may panic, and to compensate for Daniel Bryan being sidelined, they go all out on bringing back CM Punk. He could come back and be that top guy that the WWE needs as soon as he returns.
