CM Punk: 7 Reasons He Could Have Been The Biggest WWE Star Of 2014

4. A Match With Bryan Would Have Been 5 Star

Cena Punk Bryan and Punk seemed destined to clash in 2014. There's limited space in WWE for two performers who are so similar, they would have been on a collision course both on screen and off screen. The fact is in WWE, you have the number 1 guy (John Cena) and then traditionally the number 2 guy underneath has been Punk. That all changed toward the end of 2013 when Bryan stole in as the most popular star in the company, largely for the same reasons Punk was popular €” elite wrestling ability and mic skills. Now that Punk has some compelling fan fuel of his own again, he could have taken his spot back. The pair would have met in a match at some point this year as both have WWE title credentials. The match would have ended up being the contest of the year. Previous efforts have been amazing and with both men having so much stock right now it would have been big stakes. It was a 5 star match waiting to happen, but we will have to make do with the likes of Bryan vs Triple H instead.
