4. Punk Will Return At Payback
WWE.comNow we get into the Punk is returning at _______ rumors that have cropped up during the past five months. Every time there is a WWE televised event in Chicago, it seems like its fair game to wildly speculate that the Second City Saint will show up. Junes Payback PPV was no exception. With Daniel Bryan out of action, the rumors were flying that Punk would come back to fill the void and perhaps get revenge on Kane (who was feuding with Daniel Bryan at the time and was Punks last opponent before he walked). Instead, what we got was a segment between Bryan and Stephanie McMahon that drew some strong CM Punk chants. That led Stephanie to play off of it and ask Bryan if he was going to quit just like CM Punk did. So instead of a return, Chicago fans got a burn. Naturally, the fact that Punk was even mentioned on WWE programming has helped fuel rumors of his return, so take that putdown with a grain of salt.
