CM Punk: 8 Talking Points About His WWE Chicago Raw Return Tonight

2. Punk Was In The Right?

The other side of the argument is that Punk was right to do what he did and the company is absolutely correct to bring him back at Raw. The basis for this side of the story is that the WWE decision to have Punk return is an admission of the company being in the wrong. They are holding their hands up and saying sorry. By backtracking on plans and reinstating Punk they are admitting it was their fault that he left. Is this the case? It could be. We don't know what WWE had suggested to Punk for Wrestlemania before his walkout, they might possibly have left him feeling he had no recourse other than the exit. If some reports that WWE were going to book Kane vs Punk for Mania are true then maybe it is fair to say he was provoked into leaving. You can't undervalue yourself as a worker, by agreeing to be an undercard Mania wrestler would have seen Punk admitting to be a lower level talent in a contract renewal year. He was arguably justified in leaving the company if he didn't feel he was in a constructive working environment.
