CM Punk: His 9 Lasting Legacies In WWE

6. Made John Cena A Better Wrestler

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rV33xl6kf70 One of the most appreciated things about CM Punk within WWE will be everything the star did for John Cena. Could Cena ever dreamed of getting a 5 star Wrestling Observer match award? Probably not, but thanks to CM Punk he did achieve that distinction. The match was of course Punk vs Cena at Money In The Bank 2011, while Cena admittedly carried his end of the work, you have to say, CM Punk gave John his best match ever. Not just the match but the whole feud helped to elevate Cena in the view of many fans, suddenly the star had a foil to work off, a Superman dynamic to Punk's Batman. The Punk legacy has been to make Cena a more respected worker, in the process helping to extend Cena's career. It was Punk who carried the WWE title for 434 days which allowed Cena to operate outside of the title picture. By having another top star in the company it allowed Cena to diversify his work and share the responsibilities of promotion. In the long run, Punk has helped to extend Cena's career relevance, and almost certainly made him a better wrestler.
