The Undertaker has said that CM Punk is "like a different guy" since returning to WWE.

Speaking on the Busted Open Podcast, Undertaker painted a picture of a transformed man. "He's actually very pleasant to be around," 'The Deadman' said of Punk. "It's like a different guy. It's like a weight has been lifted off of him."

CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, having infamously been fired from the promotion on his wedding day back in 2014. Before his WWE comeback, he experienced a protracted exit from AEW mired by many controversies, including his backstage fight with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega at All Out 2022, and a fracas with Jack Perry at All In London the following year.

"Before he left the first time, he was very aloof, sometimes combative", The Undertaker added on Busted Open. "One of those guys that wanted to fight for every hill, even if it wasn’t in a good way,” he explained. “Now, he’s cutting up with people, engaging in conversations. It tells me that’s probably a consistent thing for him now.”

Unlike his AEW run, Punk's current WWE spell has been low on backstage controversies. The likes of Drew McIntyre were reportedly heated upon the 'Voice of the Voiceless'' return. Beyond that, there hasn't been anything the magnitude of the Perry situation or Brawl Out.

Last year, McIntyre provided Punk's biggest feud since returning to WWE, landing the duo a host of major plaudits including the Wrestling Observer's Best Feud of 2024 award.

Punk is currently booked to face McIntyre, John Cena, Logan Paul, Damian Priest, and Seth Rollins in the titular men's match at Elimination Chamber 2025, with the winner challenging Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41.
