Oh, that CM Punk…

Never missing an opportunity to throw shade at the wrestling business, the Straight Edge Superstar’s latest social media output has seen him joke that wrestling will be dead in 20 years.

After Renee Paquette took to Twitter to proclaim how good the “wrestling talent gene pool” will look in 20 years, Punk was quick to fire back with the suggestion that wrestling won’t even be around by then.

Of course, Paquette was making reference to the news that Cody and Brandi Rhodes are now expecting their first child, which comes in addition to Renee and husband Jon Moxley similarly expecting. Then there’s also the fact this month saw Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins welcome their daughter Roux into the world.

As for CM Punk, he and Renee regularly interact and goof around on Twitter with one another. The pair clearly struck up quite the friendship during their time working together on the brief run of WWE Backstage, and Punk recently appeared as a guest on Paquette’s new Oral Sessions podcast – where both talked about the highs and lows of their time under the WWE umbrella.
