SummerSlam 2009 was a great platform for both CM Punk and Jeff Hardy to shine. The two had been feuding for a few months as CM Punk finally became a fully fledged heel at this point. CM Punk kept mocking Jeff Hardy and all of his drug problems. It was a storyline fans could get behind because it was realistic and truthful. Not to mention both stars are athletic and held nothing back in this excellent TLC match. It was also the true main event for SummerSlam 2009. These two were considered more main event worthy than John Cena vs Randy Orton. Looking back at the match, these two wanted to go out and give WWE and its fans a night to remember. Jeff Hardy's insane Swanton Bomb off the ladder onto the commentator table is still breathtaking to watch five years later. It's too bad Jeff Hardy decided to leave WWE a week after this match occurred. CM Punk and Jeff Hardy could have tore the house down for six months more if he wanted to stay. Still, CM Punk emerged as the winner and proved once again why he's considered to be one of the best wrestlers in the world. It doesn't matter what style of match he's in, he always knows how to entertain the fans the best way possible.
