Cora Jade Speaks After NXT Match Stopped Due To Legitimate Injury (WWE News)

Injury update on Cora Jade following last night's NXT.

Following her match against Jordynne Grace on last night's WWE NXT being stopped earlier due to an apparent injury, Cora Jade has provided an update for her fans.

For those who missed NXT, Cora was backed up into the corner of the ring by Grace during a commercial break and suffered what some speculated to be a knee injury. The talent has since taken to X to say her knees are "good" and that she "got rocked" for a second.

Furthermore, Fightful adds that the premature end to this match was brought about by a head injury, not anything knee-related.

As of this writing, there's no update on the severity of Cora's injury or whether it will result in any notable spell on the sidelines for the 24-year-old.

Jade is currently scheduled to challenge Masha Slamovich for the TNA Knockouts Championship at TNA Sacrifice on 18 March, with Masha in attendance at last night's NXT to see Jade go up against Jordynne Grace. Of course, it was the Juggernaut who Slamovich defeated to become the Knockouts Champion at TNA Bound for Glory back in October and bring an end to Grace's third reign with that title.

NXT vs. TNA

While 2024 saw several crossovers between NXT and TNA, the start of this year saw an official "multi-year partnership" announced for the two brands.

As part of this partnership, we've currently got three crossover title matches on the imminent horizon. In addition to Cora Jade challenging TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich at TNA Sacrifice, next week's NXT Roadblock special will see the Hardys defend the TNA Tag Team Titles against NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom, while TNA X Division Champion Moose will look to dethrone Oba Femi as the NXT Champion.

On the topic of NXT Roadblock, making that event all the more stacked, NXT Women's Champion Giulia goes one-on-one with NXT Women's North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer in a winner-takes-all match. Then there's Je'Von Evans and Ethan Page going to war in a New York City Street Fight, plus the intriguing prospect of Jordynne Grace vs. Roxanne Perez in what could well be Roxanne's final match - for the foreseeable future, at least - under the NXT banner.

Where TNA Sacrifice is concerned, the NXT-TNA relationship again comes into play as Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont, and Tyriek Igwe battle the Rascalz and Ace Austin. And again, this is an overall card that has plenty of buzz around it, featuring Moose defending the X Division Title against Jeff Hardy in a ladder match, Mance Warner and Sami Callihan in a street fight, a big ten-man tag match featuring TNA World Champion Joe Hendry, Tessa Blanchard going one-on-one with Lei Ying Lee (the former Xia Li), and a potential show-stealer in Mike Santana vs. Mustafa Ali.

To circle back to Cora Jade, here's hoping whatever happened last night is nothing too serious, with the hugely promising Chicago native one of those NXT talents who constantly impresses, whether in-ring or with her character work. And with that Masha Slamovich match coming up later this month, that's yet another chance for Cora to show her skills in a big way.
