Crossface: 13 Actors Who Must Be Cast In Chris Benoit's Biopic
7. Joe Mangianello As Dean Malenko
With Guerrero, Dean Malenko played an important role in Benoit's rise to the top of the wrestling ladder, so he's a definite requirement in the film. And since both wrestling films and stripper films suit scuplted, hulking actors, another Magic Mike star could be the perfect casting pick.
A few years back, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (or unconfirmed twin Javier Bardem) could have been the right option for Malenko, but too much water has passed under that particular bridge. So the responsibility should fall to Joe Mangianello, who will require make-up and some extensive hair work to stop him being so bloody attractive. He would definitely have the physique though, and he's played cold and calculating well before, which suits Malenko's heel work.
The fourth important pillar of The Radicalz also shouldn't be overlooked, though Perry Saturn is a more difficult prospect for casting. Jason Statham perhaps? His unhinged performance in Mean Machine suggests there's something there that could be channelled, even if he'd need some serious enhancement for the right look.
