Crossface: 8 Other WWE Legends Who Deserve A Movie Biopic
5. Hulk Hogan
With the circumstances surrounding the end of Chris Benoits life seemingly making him a better candidate for a movie biopic, perhaps Hulk Hogans recent embarrassment will bump him up the list a little. Practically wiped from existence by the WWE in the wake of the release of a sex tape in which The Hulkster uses awful language and actually admits to being a racist, the now former Hall of Famer has fallen from grace pretty hard. Born Terry Bollea in Augusta, Georgia in 1953, Hogan showed promise as both a baseball player and a musician before he turned to wreslting, attracking scouts from the New York Yankees and Cincinati Reds as well as playing bass for several bands on the Florida circuit. By 1977 he had put all that to one side and was making his ring debut for CWF as The Super Destroyer. This hooded character had been played by many wrestlers before Hogan and by many after, a character Hogan never intended on making his own. His epiphany came on a local Memphis talk show on which he sat beside Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferringo. After the host pointed out that Hogan dwarfed the real Hulk, Bollea agreed and basically took the name for himself. The Hogan part was added by Vince McMahon, who wanted him to have an Irish name and asked him to dye his hair red, though Hogan refused on account of him already beginning to get a little thin on top. His stubbornness paid off, however, and McMahon chose him to be the blond-haired face of his push into mainstream pop-culture, something Hogan lapped up. He became famous overnight after he overpowered the Iron Sheik at the first WrestleMania to win the WWE Championship. In terms of a movie biopic, which could delve into the gritty details of his various affairs and scandals as well as his wrestling and early life in Florida, Hogan has already hand-picked who he wants to play himself on the big screen: "I think we need a serious, serious actor that knows what he's doing. You know who I thought would be good? That guy that did that action movie Thor." That's the first thing you've said in a long time that makes sense, Hulk. Who Could Play Him: Chris Hemsworth
