Crossface: 8 Other WWE Legends Who Deserve A Movie Biopic
4. Shawn Michaels
Five time WrestleMania headliner Shawn Michaels may be a Born Again Christian, but he is perhaps best remembered as an incredibly vain and maddeningly cocky villain. After beginning his mainstream career as part of the Midnight Rockers tag team (Vince McMahon dropped the Midnight and rechristened them The Rockers when he signed the pair) it wasnt long before Michaels turned heel. Rebranded as the Heartbreak Kid, a sex symbol who loved himself inside and outside of the ring, Michaels began working his way towards becoming the promotions number one heel, first by taking the Intercontinental Championship from the ever popular British Bulldog. McMahon, however, had a change of heart regarding Michaels role in the federation. After some time off amid injuries and a supposed steroid suspension, Michaels returned to the ring as one of the founding members of perhaps WWEs most memorable stable D-Generation X, a group that included Rick Rude, Triple H, Chyna, X-Pac, The New Age Outlaws and Tori across various reincarnations. They were brought together as villains, but proved so popular during the Attitude Era that McMahon had little choice but to change their angle to fan favourites. A back injury that saw Michaels begin a four year hiatus from the ring was the beginning of the end for HBK. In an interview with ESPN shortly after his retirement, Michaels stated that his decision to retire came a month before WrestleMania XXV, when a backstage employee told him that his 9-year-old son Cameron was half-way gone, making Michaels promise himself to spend more time with him. The Hall Of Famer currently works as a WWE ambassador and is revered as an industry legend, though a movie biopic would most likely revolve around his time in the ring and one of the most controversial events in WWE history the Montreal Screwjob..
